It sounds unbelievable... but it`s true

If Beyond Justice becomes Public Domain in Italy then you can say it`s really in the Public Domain.
Just because it is freely available in the United States (for reason unknown) dosn`t make it Public Domain.
That are two pair of shoes

Well, here is another really remarkable thing -- The Constitution FORBIDS the U.S. Government from placing copyrights on anything they produce because it is made with tax-payer dollars even if it is a work for hire. However,Disney's "VICTORY THROUGH AIR POWER" is copyrighted by DISNEY even though it was fully paid for by the Government with U.S. Tax Dollars. Now, How and Why you might ask is this even possible? Well, the Disney Characters that appear in the film are Disney Property and Disney somehow managed to secure copyrights to that film. If someone had enough money and a fleet of attorney's to challenge the copyright on the grounds it was paid for by the Government, they might win the case in front of the Supreme Court after Disney ties it up in litigation for 30 years.

How are you going to find the 'not used footage' ?? If your planning on going to the National Archives for a few years to sift though all it I wish you well. I'll check in with your form time to time to see how many more millions of feet of film you have left to go through.

You don`t have to
After the National Archive canceled the cooperation with Google they are now selling all their digitized footage on Amazon for a very low price +/- 30$ each box.
Two years ago you had to pay for the same amount of material 10 times that much

I`m sorry but i checked amazon yesterday and it looks like that they are gone .. only a few are still there but rather expensive.
A few month ago i bought two boxes from amazon with 16 to 21 hours of raw WW2 Footage
it`s funny if you look at those raw footage .. you can see that most of the propaganda movies were made of re-enacted material like The Battle of San Pietro and the other funny thing is that those unedited material is actually filmed in colour while most of the finished movies are only available in black and white
